I'd go with an off white linen curtain

Here other pic of my living room

Here's a good chart to go by.

I'm thinking something with rust and pale gray. Bring those colors up on the wall.

The rods and curtains need to be wide enough so the whole window is seen when the drapes are opened all the way.

The drapes' length should just brush the floor.

The ceilings should be painted bright white.

It's called Henna blackout panel. On sale at Home Depot

Don't let them droop like their photo, fabric should hang straight to 1/8" above the floor. Order 2 for each window...they are wide but open and close nicely. Use a center bracket so the rod doesn't sag.

You might use white sheers between the panels, such a bright cheerful look...open or closed they catch the light.

I love the suggestion from Ac Lb to pull the furniture away from the walls and onto the rug, and the drapes from tracefloyd. I also think a round coffee table would look great and be very useful. I lowered your mirror a bit so that it doesn’t exceed the height of the drapery rod.

I like the idea of picking up on the rust in the rug with your curtains, but I'd go with a solid curtain. It looks like the 2 patterns are too busy together. Let the rug shine.

These are from Amazon

It's also possible the Henna drapes could make the room colors look dull in comparison. I still like the sheers with the solid Rust ones shown.

I like the coffee table and the black accents with @ffpalms coffee table. Black accent pieces make the colors in the room...look how rich the brown leather with it.

Sorry kitty your perch must move lol, the sofa needs two end tables with table lamps. Lighting other than overhead is key.

The fireplace needs to be included, so get a 3x5 rug for it, and an ottoman or chair to sit by the fire. Only one decor piece (or set) on the floor there and clear the mantle except for the plant and little jar...they should be to one side of the clock.

Along with the others' suggestions, a plant in a window will finish the room...very nice.
