I have no idea how viable such seeds might be...but for certain, until you sow them, you will never know. I would treat them the same as any other perennial seed, sowing in a good, free draining seed mix, sometime around September/October. Fast germinators (which do not require stratification) will usually manage to make decent little plants, going into winter, but the majority of my seeds will overwinter in the cold greenhouse and germinate the following spring.

I have only grown ribes aureum from seed...and tbh, I wouldn't go down that road again. Took years to see flowers and berries.

Thank you for letting me know, I'm used to growing strawberries from seed, they sometimes fruit the same year I started them, if I get them started early enough lol I find it can be difficult to find information about things, Houzz is amazing, I've learned so much through this doing posts like this. I also grow a lot of citrus from seed and they can take anywhere from 5 - 50 yrs to start producing, depending on the variety, I don't mind waiting for fruit. I have 2 types of Golden Raspberries (Fall Gold and Honey Queen) Wild Black Raspberries I saved from my previous home (the city workers were mowing them down with everything and me being the plant person I am, I couldn't bear to see them hurt like that do I saved as many as I can) I also have Red Raspberries I was able to save from my dads place, they technically are probably over 50 yrs old (I know the canes only last 2 yrs but they were already growing when my dad bought his house) and they were being choked out by the grass and Maple saplings so I saved them as well, I'm the same with Wild strawberries too, I've found when I have them in my garden well cared for he Wild strawberries are almost 2 - 3 times as big as they would be in the wild.
