Applique is looking good. At the Urgent Care garden, I have to refresh deer repellent every night. I doubt whether any of Dan's reds are hardy.

My favorites are Clown Parade and love Woman in Red. So Sorry about the deer, I keep expecting them to come up and eat my daylilies. Last year was the 1st time they ever touched them, and then they were nice enough to just taste a couple, and even then it was some seedlings I did mot miss. Several days about 3 weeks ago every morning I got up and there were at least 8 at the back of my lot. I must have naturally stinky daylilies or something.

Oh, Debra, I feel your pain. For you the deer, for me the bugs (and deer as well). It can be very depressing!! The reds have it today with Stolen Heart and Woman in Red. Love those white edges on Woman in Red. I always like Carolina Pale Face.

Mantis - Dan says Woman in Red and Unbound have survived at Crintonic. Apparently the other reds I have of his - Diver Down, Kara Louise and Twentieth Century Fox - have not. I cannot imagine spraying every daylily I have every night. At least the deer still seem afraid of the Bounce dryer sheet strips. I just don't have enough time to cut and apply them to every stinkin' scape. Applique always does well. I've seen it growing in the North, so it's moving with me.

Nancy - I can't believe the deer don't eat your daylilies. There must be something at the edge of your lot that's tastier.

Kate - Woman in Red does have a nice, white edge. Supposedly it's one that will grow in the North. We'll see.

I am so sorry the deer re at it again. Woman in Red looks really good. he applique group is lovely. Your Clown Parade is a perfect color and form. They are all very pretty DEbra. I of course like Eurphoric...My color.

What a nightmare having all those deer around. I bet you will be glad to leave them behind........Baby Rabbits are all over this year so I finally got some spray to see if that helped. It seems to have worked where I sprayed it. I was spraying every night before I went in for the night. No way could I work in a freshly sprayed area so I did it last thing. The odor of that stuff is horrible.........Euphoric got my attention. Not only the color but the form is good. I do like a good round form with ruffles........Maryl

I am sorry to hear about the deer. They are a nuisance. I really like CLOWN PARADE and I can't wait to see my STOLEN HEART bloom. In my eyes, it is such a rich color and is a good breeder for some.

Lovely pics Debra. Clown Parade has always been a favorite here. Deer can be a problem and some sprays work better than others. We've had so much rain that even Bobbex will wash off after several rainstorms. I need to redo mine tonight. I saw our first fawn of the season 2 days ago laying curled up in our backyard.

Julia - Deer Out worked great for two years, but it doesn't seem to be deterring them at all now. I just noticed I've lost three more clumps on the side of the house to deer. They got all my Asiatic lilies too.

Debra, let me put my 2 cents worth in about Dan Hansen's plants. I know he tests them at Curt Hanson's place, but Curt lives just south of Lake Erie. From what I read, the Cleveland area gets a fair amount of lake effect snow. Indianapolis does not get much snow and that will make a lot of difference. We personally have not had a great deal of luck with Dan's plants.

Nan -You make a good point about the snow cover insulating the plants at Crintonic. I hate to hear you haven't had luck with Dan Hansen's plants. I know you grew Absolute Ripper, and that it has rebloomed for you. Do you still have that one? As for Stenciled Infusion, I'm going to find out how it does in the north. It's one of my favorites, and I won't leave it behind.

Stenciled Infusion here survives, but hasn't multiplied and has low bud count. For deer, buy a sprayer at Tractor Supply. It does not take long to spray scapes with the wide spray stream. Sometimes, just refreshing the scent in the yard is adequate. But when food sources are stressed by drought, or in the case of fawns, nothing seems to deter predation.

Mantis - Thanks for your input about Stenciled Infusion. I have a big clump of it, so I'm not worried about it multiplying. Tractor Supply has a lot of sprayers. Exactly which kind do you use?

Mantis - Thanks for the sprayer info! I actually have one of those Groundwork ones that I bought a few years ago at Home Depot. It has stopped working - probably needs to be cleaned.
