Primary purchases

We have black accents throughout our home and I thought I’d need to carry that into the bathroom as well. We have black brass round knobs, dining room chandelier, stove surround, and window hardware.
Our red Oak wood floors are throughout the home except our kitchen and bathrooms.

Are you keeping the same vanity? What color will the vanity and countertop be?

While I understand the desire to keep the look within the aesthetic range of the rest of your house. I would not be so concerned with carrying every theme and all of the hardware all of the way through the bathroom. It is sometimes nice for bathrooms to feel slightly off from the rest of the house to lend a sense of privacy and separateness.

I have placed a deposit on quartz countertops for both bathrooms and they must be from the same
Slab. So that is the other element of my concern. As we are keeping the existing tile in our ensuite but will have to use the same countertop to cut down on costs. I also like the look of something darker but that also scares me!

Love those kitchen cabinets. I have a 1956 MCMranch home and my fave style of home BTW. I think MCM was simple well designed for real life . My kitchen was original and too small so we swapped DR for kitchen. As for bathrooms I like 12 x24 porcealin tile for both bathroom floors and shower walls the same tile only smalled for shower floors . IMO this keeps all the major expense parts simple then a bit o f a more trendy counter if you want that bit of change . This allows changes in wall color accent colors easity done down the road for very little money , even counter can be changed easily. I
