Paint the walls a much lighter color to start. What do you need for windows like privacy , light control heat control. Right now remove the drapes and the rods fill the holes paint the room and be preapred to do a coat of primer and 2 coats of apingt do not believe paint and primer in one will do the job. The furniture is huge but if it has to stay then next step woy arrange the space better if you camn The lighter wall will totally change the feel of the space and I would not do white .Get a nice low cabinet for the TV to hang above and hang the TV at proper viewing height too right now a bit high .If new furniture is in the budget then a much less bulky style and a sofa and 2 chairs better than a sectional.

More info needed. What are you keeping in the room? Are you willing to change the paint color?

You would have much more flexibility with the furniture arrangement if you replaced the sectional with more conventional sofas and chairs.

I would like to keep the sectional, if I could make it work. Changing the paint color is a must and planned. I do need window coverings of some sort. I would like to do something nice on the tv wall. I am open to see how I could set it up with different furniture, I do like cozier pieces for a comfy usable room.

Tv is off centered because I use that corner for my Christmas tree. Could I put something there to balance it when not Christmas. Sorry if I sound crazy! I just really like a Christmas tree in this room.

I'll scale your plan in a few days to see what it looks like in abstract. I never understand why architects insist on building monuments to themselves without respecting the humans who will live there. I always looks amazing when it's empty and you see it for the first time. Then there's the matter of living. Oh well. It certainly keeps interior designers busy.

Yes on the advice here on the thread to paint the ceiling and walls the same lighter color to simplify the space. Then consider inset window treatments like shutters or roman shades and do without curtains. (I can't believe I'm saying that because I usually love curtain panels, but this space needs structure).

Please post the dimensions of your tv and sectional. I'm not sure if sofas and loveseats and lounge chairs would help in any case, as it might just add to the confusion. Tightening up the seating arrangement towards the middle of the room and adding few, but larger furniture, might do it.

The main awkward thing I see is that the curtain rods are crowding the ceiling for this room...especially with the soffet. Try lowering them a bit....like halfway. The new drapes should hang straight, the ones now are too rumpled...like the furniture pushed against them or they are too long...curtains don't drag on the floor anymore. And the windows flanking the fireplace need two panels each..one on each side of the glass.

The other thing is the sectional should not be against the wall...float it and get colorful pillows for it.

Paint as suggested.

Think about just putting the tv on a credenza instead of hanging it on a wall so you can centre it on the wall most of the year and just shift it down for the Christmas tree.

There is no magic wand or AI that can solve this. You need furniture mover pads under the legs of the furniture and move it around.

Get 1/4" graph paper where 1/4" = 1' and sketch your floor plan using your furniture measurments. You need 18" minimum to move between furniture pieces.

Here is a rough concept. I did not measure anything.

• move sectional closer to the fireplace.
• Swivel chair near the fireplace (arrow) that can face the TV or the room.
• A lightweight pouf for the swivel that is easy to move
• floor pillows for fun.
• TV is the blue line

Get some Kilim throw pillows...so beautiful and such nice colors. Our swivel chair is the Potter Barn Wells chair...very nice. It would look good in your room. You have some wonderful ideas for decor and paint that was posted for you right here in this thread.

I know, right? The most difficult to envision is our own space. It's also hard for me to get a sense of scale from a photo. You're the one in the room.

PB has a petite version of the Wells chair that would be preferable for you. There are much smaller swivels out there...not sure what size you need.

I create my concept renders using Google Drawings. Any drawing software you have allows you to import screenshots of photos and superimpose different color shapes and lines.

Floorplanner.com is a good one for design software that is free to use. Paint companies use a Visualizer online...upload your room photos and 'paint' them using their colors.

And inspo....always look for inspiration rooms you love for ideas you can incorporate. Mood boards. Your room doesn't need much. it's the little things that are logical that work visually. You need drapes on both sides of the windows. Get a dramatic piece for the coffee table. Nice art as shown.

I'm sorry I can't answer that because I can't see the entire TV wall.

Have you looked online for inspo rooms with angled ceilings as a TV wall? See how they handled their built-in treatment. That's what I would do.

Then I would take a picture of my whole wall and mock it up using my Draw software to envision what it would look like.

Did you say you're getting new furniture? That's a whole other story.

This rendition is being presented with suggestions for your consideration. The colors and style is not being presented. Hope this helps.

Suggestions as follows:

1. Put the table that is under the TV behind the couch and use it as couch table as shown in the rendition. The ottoman can go under just as you have it now, to be pulled out and used for extra seating as needed.
2. One large TV console that will be longer than your TV
3. Two swivel chairs that can be turned to watch TV or for conversation.
4. Two small side tables next to the swivel chairs and on each side of the couch. Just as you already have one.
5. Two large potted plants (silk is easier) as shown in the rendition. The one to the left of the TV is a place holder for your Christmas tree and can be moved when the time comes.
6. One 3 to 4 seater sofa.
