Do you read in bed with a book - a real book? If yes, a taller lamp & table closer to bed would be good. Otherwise, a taller lamp with more ’presence’ would better balance the bulk of the bed, That lamp you have is pretty & shape & color is good but IMO it’s too dainty in appearance.

Yes, i read real books only:). My thought as well, a beefier lamp. I’ve seen numerous lamps in beige tone colors but worry too much off white with everything else. I like having the brass, haven found any i. Like and not to mention sticker shock with the price of lamps. I came across these two styles and I like the one on the left but description says copper and unsure if that would be too dark

Good to know I’m not the only person who prefers to hold a ’real’ book! 😊 For color I was thinking the warm creamy of your bedding would be a nice contrast against the wall color. The table & lamp both almost disappear into the wall as is with the lamp shade standing out as focus. So a lighter color lamp would be nice - maybe with metal color design on it for textural interest. Also, a 3 level light is nice for a bedroom so you can have a dim light if wanted. Of the 2 lamps you show, I like the lighter color tall rectangle shape one much better - the color & design. I do understand the sticker shock. If there are any nicer consignment stores nearby check them out for lamps - amazing what you will find there in terms of decor items, lamps included. I don’t mind lightly used items with hard surfaces that can be wiped clean. New lampshades are easy to find even a new one identically shaped to the original.

Thank you so much! I was worried about going into beige overload. Funny you mentioned second hand. I actually picked up a set of lamps that needed a DIY, made several attempts painting, gave up and they are in the basement for perhaps a winter project. I appreciate having some direction in color, back to my search
