    Mister Mayor

    Sweetest Name I Know

    Who Would Be Queen

And of course, a new favorite for its performance this season: Cloud of Witnesses

    Empire of Desire

    Child of Bethlehem

A major disappointment. Looks Like Christmas, Blooms take two full days to open and by then the dew has pretty much ruined the blooms

Unusual for Isabelle Rose to have low bud count! I like the varied forms on Rumba Numba, and it also appears to be an EMO. The background hay bales are an interesting contrast, along with the forested area and beautiful sky. Royal Girls is a nice clump; may be a bit low in bud count. Sweetest Name I Know will be first year in garden this year.

Mantis, I know this is getting old but Isabelle Rose was bug victim this year. It is usually well budded and I will get at least two rebloom seasons from it if it performs as usual. I hope you enjoy Sweetest Name. It has been very sunfast.

Kate, you know I've coveted Garden Butterfly for some time. It always looks great for you. But my favorite today is Child of Bethlehem with that white edge. Who Would Be Queen also looks great. You know I love my purples and pinks! BTW, I am clearing out lots of plants I don't use in seed making so whenever you get those bugs under control and want any more daylilies, let me know! (Or maybe you've given up and are down-sizing?)

Celeste, did I not send Garden Butterfly to you or were we waiting for it to multiply? If so, I have enough now to share. Email me details as to when you might want it. This photo was today, which I loved. Yesterday’s bloom looked more ”usual” but still lovely!!

Love the garden shots, deadheaded or not! I like Mr Mayor, it looks like it is having a good season for you, lots of buds. I cant imagine Looks Like Christmas ever looking good if it takes two days to open, wonder how and where it grew for the hybridizer.

Love the garden shots...the one with the hay bailing was very neat. Rumba Bumba has had a good year. It is a nice bright one. Isabella Rose is always a pretty one. Sultry girls looks great. I agree on Garden Butterfly; Mine started yesterday too, funny. lovely post, Kate.

What beautiful clumps! I love Garden Butterfly. And Isabelle Rose. Mine probably won't bloom this year (( And Child of Bethlehem is great. But my favorite is the scenic grouping, nice pic!

Sherry, Looks Like Christmas is a Bart Beck intro and he is in Idaho, I believe. He described it as a clear red but, like you, I don’t think it has a chance of being a clear red here!

Kay, Garden Butterfly is so pretty and aptly named. I look forward to seeing it every year.

While I may never be a big fan of the UF form, some of the colors are so appealing that even I broke down and bought a couple. The color on Royal Girls is a good example of a real wowzer. So rich looking........But still number one in my book are those rounded forms and you have some really nice ones. Sweetest Name I know is a backbone daylily in my garden. Sunfast even in my heat with lots of blooms later in the season. I'm especially fond of its unique mauve color (in my climate anyway) and keep looking for something similar in that color that is as good a daylily as it is. So far no go.......Who would be Queen interested me. A Douglas that's a sev, so not for me right now, but still I'm glad you are posting it............Cloud of Witnesses and Child of Bethlehem are two others that I find appealing.......Love the field shots btw............Maryl

Kate: Your garden pics are so pretty . Not a bad one in the grouping. I see it is "tootsie roll" time by you. Same here. Most of the farmers had finished last week.

Beautiful photos of beautiful daylilies! I think my favorites are Royal Girls, Garden Butterfly and Mister Mayor. My Mister Mayor should start blooming tomorrow! The garden shot is so pretty!

Nat, I hope your Isabelle Rose does bloom for you. It can be quite impressive.

Maryl, Sweetest Name I Know is very sunfast. It sees western sun all afternoon and still holds up.

Julia, the rain has delayed the haying by almost two weeks. On the flip side of delay, they had a really good cutting.

Debra, you know Mister Mayor is one of my favorites. It is usually a great performer.
