I guess I wouldn't judge a daylily on 97F temperature unless that is the daily norm for my temps.

Snow Lake Crazies looks good. Not all yellow but the blend of yellows sets it off. The Lil Black Buds just looks like a deep purple to me. Nice photos. Why are you going to a rest home?

I hope you are on the road to recovery. Knee injuries can take a long time to heal. I get what you mean by taking Yesterday Memories to the rest home with you - you'll always keep it. As for the double, it's so pretty when temps are in the 80s. But your normal temps ARE in the high 90s most years, so it doesn't meet your criterion. I love Snows Lake Crazies. I hope it hold up in your heat.

Such pretty ones here, Maryl. Good luck for recovery. I know you are missing getting out among your plants but healing comes first! I see why you searched for Snows Like Crazies-such a pretty one. Lil Black Buds is eyecatching. And yes, Ruby Spider is a good one. Bugs got mine this year (old refrain) but it has always performed well. Get better soon!

Debra: You are so right about what our "norm" temperature is starting in June. It's goodbye to the 80's and hello to the 90's. My little backyard border catches mostly all day sun which is why sunfast daylilies are so important there. Maybe they aren't the fancy dancy ones, but usually all a passerby wants to see is a jolt of color. It's a landscape choice in our climate. So Blazing Double Sunset will more then likely ride "off into the sunset" ..........Sherry: I will say that Ruby Spider seems to hold its color in our heat. It's in a place I have a hard time getting to right now, so I've only glanced at it a couple of times. Nice red color from what I saw, and I'm picky about my reds..........Julia: Yes, it would be nice to have cooler temperatures in summer, but that's not Oklahoma. Lil Black Buds is black black, particularly in the cooler AM. I take most of my pictures around 2PM ish to get a better take on how colorfast/sunfast they are after exposure to the sun up until then. BTW: Debra got it. I'm not literally going anywhere yet (God willing).......Kate: I am hoping this isn't a permanent sort of knee problem. But I am better then last week. I see that Snows Lake Crazies is a Tanner dormant. Always interesting to see different cultivars from a collection. I see that LIl Black Buds has gone all the way to AM. Blazing is a Dianna Gossard and still quite pricey. All very interesting cultivars. Zac Attack I see is a Grossmann. Snows Lake definitely piques interest.

Snows Lake Crazies: is gorgeous! Mp wonder you hunted it. Blazing Double Sunset is a pretty one, but our temps are hard on all of them, it is a rare gym that can take it all day.

Mantis: Snows Lake Crazies seems to have good bones to it. Or at least what I like for my pot culture. A 1st year hold over for sure....... Blazing Double Sunset was an attempt to duplicate "No Way Jose" only on a taller and more prolific plant. Its location was to be in my full sun border. Obviously with its faded colors there that didn't work out...........Kate: You are so right about the rarity of blooms that can tolerate our prolonged heat. But there are some that do pretty darned well and remain tolerable if not perfect at the end of the day.............RE: my knee: I really worked especially hard in the garden this season ignoring the pain in my knees. Finally one of my knees said NO MORE. I think it is a torn meniscus. I just wish it would rain to help relieve the work load......Maryl
