I was just thinking the same thing. In anticipation of ridiculously high temps, little rain, and being at work all week and not having time to tend to things, I watered the snot out of my vegetable garden last Sunday. And then it stormed pretty much every day -- I noticed yesterday the tomatoes and peppers starting to wilt a little bit, might be from being too moist. I'm blessed with very well-draining soil, so all should be well as long as it stops storming. Other stuff looks great, though -- so IDK if it's the heat or moisture level in the soil.

I haven't noticed anything in pots looking worse for the wear except vinca, they hate it too wet, but IDK if it's the moisture level or this particular strain giving me fits. It's the old Pacifica strain, which never seemed to be as vigorous as other varieties; I grow it specifically for the color. I ended up taking some of them out and buying fresh stock -- different series, different color but close enough.

Yes, I have been on the fence about watering a little. I just put together a pot and added alyssum and that started showing yellowing leaves and I think it was soil that was too wet. I bought a Helliotrope and added that to a pot and watered the pot, then it was so hot, I came out and it was completely wilted. Thankfully, watering brought it back except for a few lower leaves I had to remove.

I did water the whole back border, because everything was SO dry and it rained the next day, but with all my mature tree roots and hydrangeas in the mix, it hasn't been too much so far. But, now they are forecasting rain the next 4-5 days in a row. So...it's challenging to get it right, this year.
