Mean Green and Royal Girls look like gargantuan clumps. Both of those must multiply like crazy. They look so great together! I'm glad to see Dearest Valentine is reblooming for you. I noticed tonight mine has a couple of rebloom scapes on the way. Your High Watermark looks so pretty, and the blooms look big. Mine is always short, doesn't look the same color as yours, and has somewhat small flowers.

Debra, those are huge clumps! I was glad to see the rebloom on Dearest Valentine-bugs got the first blooms. I have High Water Mark in two different garden beds, This one always looks great while the other one does not. Ironically this clump is in the poorest soil.

Those are beautiful clumps! Whiter Eyes Pink Dragon is such a goof plant. Pink Panther Paws is lovely. Christmas Mimosas makes a neat clump! It looks like a wreath of bows. High Water Mark is lovely with the Marigolds. Mean Green and Royall girls make a lovely show. Not a stinker in the bunch! Pretty post Kate.

You got my attention when you posted Mary's Baby. Mine was stuck where I couldn't see it until I was able to retrieve it today. It's about half way finished blooming unfortunately. I placed it in my border where it got mostly sun all day (at 98 degrees). Mary's Baby was NOT happy with Mary....How does Approaching Storm compare to Mary's Baby for you?.........What another good shot of Christmas Mimosa. Great color on it as you probably know I'd say.........Substantial Evidence does have a slight brownish cast to it, but the form is still very good and I still like that form.......Maryl

    Kate,

Great picture of PASSING FANCY. It is a good performer for me. MARY'S BABY is very nice. I can't wait to see what my EXPLOSION IN THE PAINT FACTORY puts out this year.

Very nice picture of High Water Mark. Christmas Mimosas is intriguing. We may need to work out a trade on that one. Tahoe Snow Blizzards is nice, and of course, Mean Green. Miss Mayhem I had to pass up when I saw the description of reaching new limits in plant size. Your grass is green! I thought you had dryness problems. A friend in MS has also posted pics of nice green grass--what a contrast, she noted, with last year.

Love Mean Green andRoyal Girls together!! High Water Mark and Christmas Mimosa are lovely . Your Boy Crazy looks so good today, mine is leaving the garden soon…..pale blooms again and LOW bud count after at least 8 years here. So glad the bugs left this part of your garden alone

Thanks Kay-after the bug season with so many,I am so glad to see these late ones!

Maryl, Mary’s Baby and Approaching Storm live in the same neighborhod in the garden so I am able to compare them. I am usually in the garden between 6 and 6:30 in the morningsbtw. Mary’s Baby is already fully open then. Approaching Storm is only halfway open. However, the blooms on AS appear to be cleaner-size is comparable. You know when Mary’s Baby is perfect it can’t be beat.

Sherry, I understand the frustration of poor performance on a plant. And I second the comment about the bugs.

David, as you know, Passing Fancy is a great plant. Last year it not only bloomed a long time it had three rebloom seasons! Gotta love those Bennetts!

Mantis, I have zoysia grass in my lawn areas. It can stay green during short term drought It will get crunchy if drought continues-I do not water the lawn! Depending on where your friend in MS lives, she may have gotten significant rain during the past two or three weeks. I am in north MS; areas to the south have received more rain. Let me know-we can talk trade!

Wow, these are wonderful. Glad at least your getting to see many of your blooms still. We have wild turkeys here but this year have seen only 1. Love your pic of the visitors.
