For what it's worth, Patrick Stamile's Web site lists nothing older than 2015. Makes me wonder if he sold off all his older intro's and PW snatched them up.

It's possible that when Stamile sold his operation to the Pierces, he sold off his older hybrids to some big horticultural company. I know from personal experience that this is the way Oakes gets its newer inventory. We have sold stock of three different daylilies to them one of which is Rosie Cotton's Ribbons, which was in their catalog last season. Two more are being increased to be listed for sale.

It's just a marketing ploy. Another company did it with I believe a daylily called Endless Heart. They renamed it Early Bird Cardinal. There is also a small yellow daylily with variegated foliage named Malja that was renamed Golden Zebra for commercial sales.

I searched online and noticed there are others in the 'Rainbow 'Rhythm' collection including Lake of Fire.

Thank you, Nancy. I have Earlybird Cardinal and was royally confused when I first encountered it because it also showed up as Endless Heart. I really appreciate the explanation.

One of my favorite landscaping daylilies, Orange Smoothie, was in the Rainbow Rhythm series. I got it at a local retailer, so was surprised at how much I ended up liking it....Oakes has changed since I first ordered from them ages ago. Among other things, by having more of the newer introductions now. Back in the day it was usually older tried and true daylilies for sale...........Maryl
