When you walk in the front door of my ranch style home, you are immediately in the living room. This room is hard to design as there's a corner fireplace with windows next to it. What I need help with right now is the empty wall space next to the fireplace. I had a media console with a TV on top of it there, but I hated staring right at a TV as I walked into the house/living room, plus we got glare from the windows. (We moved the console and TV into the basement family room.)What should I put in this small space furniture-wise and on the wall? I can't block the flow of foot traffic through the living room into the kitchen. And with having the mantel right there with decor on it, I can't have a "busy" wall. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
