bathroom cabinets refacing

last year
last modified: last year

I wanted to see if my bathroom looks better if i painted the Cabinets swiss coffee (white by kelly moore) to chase away a little bit the yellow/beige tone in the bathroom. the walls are bluesh/grey color called silver strand beach by kelly moore. its more like a chambray color.

I bought a new light fixture that is chrome and white, modern style (coming soon).

i bought chrome round knobs to make the bathroom look timeless.

I want to frame the mirror, should i frame it metal chrome or wood white frame?

Thanks in advance

Your cabinet looks to be in good condition, so I would not be painting it. Its fine, just the way it is. I wouldnt frame the mirror either. Those big mirrors look better if you leave them alone.

Yes to a new light fixture, and to new hardware on the cabinet, which has none at present. I would use chrome, so it goes with the faucets, and fits in with the rest of the bathroom. There is a lot of clutter on the counter, I would try and find a place in the bathroom, that is convenient, to put that stuff out of sight.

I actually would paint the cabinets a warm white that coordinates with the countertops. Im not sure if Swiss Coffee would work- Which brand paint Swiss Coffee? I agree with cat_ky and I would not frame the mirror. I live big mirrors but framing them tends to look clunky imo. I can’t tell what type of light fixture you bought - that pic isn’t clear.

If you must paint the vanity (I agree, it doesn't really appear to need it), be sure to sample Swiss Coffee next to your floor and countertops before going ahead. Look at a sample larger than a paint chip. Swiss Coffee might be too bright and/or cool a white to go with the other things in the room that you're not changing. The wall color doesn't look like a great choice with the floor and counters either, although I'm not 100% sure what it looks like from the photo because of the lighting. Make sure you're not trying to mix warm and cool colors. That's not easy to do and have it look right. It's easier for non-professionals to stick to either all warm or all cool colors in a room.

The floor is your most limiting factor here. Think about changing it out.

Glad you’re going with chrome . I love it and it never goes out of style. I think that will really pull your room together and it should go well with the floor. Good luck and I hope you post an update.
