Why are they replacing your current carpet? What was the warranty issue?

Have you brought home sample boards? Are you having trouble choosing a color, or a pattern?

Maybe you’ll want to look at their commercial carpet line if for high traffic and durability.

I put in this about 18 months ago and so far so good. My decorating style is traditional but not fussy or cluttered. I've used some version of this style of wall-to-wall in all my bedrooms through the years.

It's just DH and I, no kids or pets currently but the style worked well when they were around.

I want a neutral color which oddly having a hard time finding something that I light during the day and night. The colors change so much. I originally was just going to pick a regular cut pile but now leaning towards a patten, loop type carpet. I like the light color but want to be practical. Here are a few I looked at.

I would demand a credit and put the money towards engineered wood or LVP.

There is nothing great in an inexpensive nylon that WON'T do what all of them do. Get grimy in traffic patterns, turn lumpy because of cheap backing. Shaw, Tuftex......matters not. Get a credit.

I love carpet for bedrooms, it’s nonslip and nontrip for bare or stockinged feet or for older people. It’s also easier on the feet and warmer. If you turn on the lights, the color will not change dramatically. Lack of light creates a gray filter.

Maybe I missed it, why are they offering a warranty replacement?

Shaw makes beautiful engineered hardwood too. Maybe that could be an option for you.

I have carpet in two guests rooms that I regret we didn't just do wood floors that match the rest of our house. I kept carpet thinking it would be quieter but really an area rug would have kept noise down and look far better.

The lower the pile, the better as far as I'm concerned.

Can you get a credit as others suggested? Stanton Carpet makes a lovely 80% wool/20% poly silk called Barrier. I have had wool berber over the years and its hard wearing and feels wonderful on feet in the morning 😀

Lvp would be great however i have hardwood everywhere else in our home so i dont want to mix the two.

Get unfinished hardwood and have it stained to match . Wall to wall carpet is just plain gross after avery short use time Have you even pulled it up and looked .

A few years ago I had Shaw Carpet, color: 720S Falling Leaves (S) installed. It is 100% Ansi BCF Nylon. It looks great, I love it. Installed in my 3 bedrooms and upstairs hallway.

You aren't showing the hardwood you have "everywhere else". Often, you can find an engineered hardwood that varies little from what is already in place.

Or........bite a bullet and sand on site to match it.

Bedroom and closets get dirty faster than any other rooms in your home. You are barefoot in these! The brutal truth? Even high end nylons, unless luxury (and SHAW does not fit that category....nor does Tuftex.... ) are overpriced for what they will deliver. That is not easy care, or longevity. A hard floor is superior, forever, and an area rug is easy to replace, especially in children's rooms.

My advice from way back? Get a credit. , put it towards a longer lasting flooring, unless you plan a move very soon.

I have Brazilian cherry. I plan on sanding and staining soon.

Wall to wall carpet is great in bedrooms as long as you aren’t eating in there or tracking mud around. And how do you pull it up and look under it when it’s tacked down? My sister bought my parents house and they have cream carpet upstairs that has been there since 2003. She had it professionally cleaned and it looks fantastic.

dan1888 all of her selections were nylon. One person did suggest a polyester carpet though.

These are in no particular order.

The darker tones are better. The last one, white, will show a footpath much quicker than the darker ones.

I like the Alluring - Birch Bark. It works well with all the elements in the room and it should be a little more forgiving for masking issues between cleanings.

Is the looped pile an issue with dogs? i ask bc I had a looped pottery barn area rug and my dogs nails would occasionally catch a loop and over time, the look of the rug deteriorated

Looped carpet and definitely be an issue with pets. Dog nails can catch on it, cats sometimes REALLY like the texture and want to kneed it. It's important that you keep an eye out for stray tufts that are coming loose and occasionally trim the carpet.
