AIN, it's new to me as well. I've never seen one offered in commerce or arboreta. It's surprising to see it listed as z4 hardy considering it is from southern China, southern Japan, and Taiwan. I'm curious, did Sebright Gardens have it for sale?

That's the frustrating part about visiting Sebright and touring the gardens...other than shade perennials, they don't sell any of the really cool stuff growing in the gardens. I mean, they have this incredible library of stock plants, they could be propagating from them & retailing the results, but apparently they're not interested in doing so. How hard is it to root Euonymus carnosus? (I actually don't know, but I would guess the genus is fairly easy overall?)

I could probably post a "Rare plant found at Sebright" every week, for years, if anyone was interested.

Maybe you could pick up some fallen seeds come autumn. Ask first.

Many Euonymus' have interesting fruit. Persists long into the winter and provide important food for birds at those times.
