I will also put some big les plafons and there are 3 light fixtures, I probably should get rid of one of them. And just have 2 plafons (45cm).

Where do you live? This is basically a US site and we may not have good ideas for you. What is a plafon?

Can you change the kitchen tiles to match the rest of the flat.

I am from Lithuania. Yes I could possibly change the tiles to different color

I could probably make kitchen in these colors to mute the red colors a little bit.

I would still recommend a lighter version of the kitchen. Otherwise, you will either have to make a lot of things dark to support it, or the kitchen will again look foreign/stubby. But perhaps you just want an interior in dark colors?

It's not clear if you're renting. If so, can you make changes. If you can, then:

--Keep the walls white.

--Have the cabinets painted the same white as the wall paint only semi-glossy. Plain white cabinets will make the brown tiles less of a problem. Also paint the glass holder over the peninsula white so it "disappears.'

--Put a kitchen rug in brown, red on the floor.

The kitchen cabinet color is so over the top, it make current furniture look out of place. If you can change the cabinet color to white, then living room palette can be browns and tans with a bit of red in a rug or sofa pillows. The existing brown leather sofa and chairs might be fine with the right rug below them to anchor the space. Make the current coffee table a TV stand. It's nice and wide and will improve the look of the TV wall. Then get a coffee table that's glass with brown metal legs or something like the one in the photo below.

Reminds me of what my daughter bought. Hers just called for paint. Gallons and gallons of paint. Your cupboards are rather fun but that flooring color against those cabinets is a huge NO.

I am not renting, I am buying it soon. So I will start fresh without any furniture. My dad knows a designer so he might ask him if anything can be done with those tiles.

Also only lower cupboards would be dark color, other half up would be light wood. So I don't think the kitchen would be too dark

Hh Bj , the darkness of the kitchen is greatly influenced by a dark apron, so I recommend making it light (not darker than the top drawers and, as an option, in the same material as them).

If you haven't remodeled or decorated before and aren't quite sure of your taste, I'd live with it for a few months before I make big changes.

Change the lights if you want but I wouldn't rip anything out right away. Buy an indoor outdoor area rug for the dark tile.

It's different but it looks to be light, bright, functional and in good condition.

Depending on your budget, I would embrace the wild red and create a space that is memorable. If it were my home I would remove the backsplash and the floors replace with something softer more organic. Maybe a cream or whtie backsplash tile and a wood floor throughout the space. I am not loving the wine glass holder and the peninsula but.. again budget might mean I would have to keep it and work with it. The good news is the countertop is a nice neutral color.

You have a lot of light coming into your home. The kitchen won't be too dark with the darker colored cabinets.

Temporarily, maybe just get some peel-and-stick black and white vinyl tiles to cover up the floor. Go with the drama, but limit the colors overall, especially in that kitchen.

The retro red cabinets are fun. If budget is an issue, I would recommend embracing the red cabinets, sampling a paint color like Heron Plume or Marshmallow from Sherwin Williams to coordinate with the residence. If Sherwin Williams is not in your area, you can use matchmypaintcolor.com and look for similar color options in other paint companies. Also, I had success with having my wall tile profesionally refinished from beige to white to work with a bathroom space. You could also use an area rug like other recommended to cover up most of the floor tile until you have an opportunity to live in the space for a while. Good luck and congrats on the new residence.

I think the red kitchen can be fun it just needs some organizing and toning down. Here are some suggestions:

-Replace the black backsplash with white tiles (can be plain white or marble look quartz depending on your budget)

-Install an integrated fan and simply surround in gyprock for an inexpensive solution

-Remove the section above the island and pipe. Square-off the island counter and install a waterfall end.

-Install white countertops (quartz if in your budget – melamine in all white if not)

-You have an Ikea in Lithuania, so look into gadgets that can help you keep your kitchen organized.

-Install a black metal wall shelving unit above the island to store the microwave and your more decorative looking kitchen accessories

-Replace the red floor tiles with light tiles in the same color family as your wood floors

Some suggestions for new furniture (Ikea) and lighting (Amazon), I show those 2 companies because I know their merchandise is available in Lithuania and don't know of the other stores you have in your country.

Great idea with waterfall. I will have more space to cut things. Regarding lighting I will probably use two 72w tope boston plafons who are app controllable. I have 3 fixtures so one of them I will remove.

Would ral7035 for walls and ral 9016 for ceiling work well and look good?
