More blooms from the garden

It's about over here too. Now the rest of the annuals/perennials will be taking up the slack. These are a few more that bloomed for me this year:

The Color Of Wonderful? I think not. A replacement for the one I had that died over winter. After many blooms it never looked any better than this (regardless of temperature).

Now for the good stuff

Sweet Summer Secret:

Coral Corduroy. The color and form never fails to impress me. One of my oldest daylilies:

Muy Caliente. A definite keeper even in my heat:

I can't sing the praises enough of this yellow. Temperatures in the 100's are tolerated. A long bloom cycle (one of the last still blooming now) and has survived my pot system for years.

Lisa Apps Sybrandt

Another keeper added to my collection. I long for a cool refreshing color in the summer. Much like Coral Corduroy, they are hard to find; at least ones that can hold their color past noon. Given late PM shade this has done wonderfully well:

Better Than Ice Cream:

Finally this is one that passes for the only white in my collection. Almost didn't make it over this horrible past winter, but pulled through and did a good job blooming for me. I am enamored with it:

Buzz Saw - taken just the other day in 104 degree heat in mid afternoon. I love the edge and throat on this one:

What is that first one? Surely it's not really The Color of Wonderful. Sweet Summer Secret look so pretty with the coreopsis! Muy Caliente seems perfect in your hot climate. I remember liking Better Than Ice Cream last year too. I'm glad it made it through your winter. The group shot of Lisa Apps Sybrandt is lovely! Thanks for sharing your photos!

I look forward to seeing Coral Corduroy every season…….hoping it mskes it through your pot culture winter. My Buzz Saw looks a bit different than yours, mine is pale yellow, yours looks white in the photo. Gotta be the climate.

What new daylilies are you getting to replace those you lost over the winter???

I like Coral Corduroy, and Better Than Ice Cream is a real beauty; love the color. Muy Caliente is just such a favorite. It has either three or four rebloom scapes going now.

Coral Corduroy is always beautifuul. And you know the Lisa Apps Sybrandt calls to me-yellow!! Better Than Ice Cream is pretty and obviously keeps its color well.

Debra: I have no clue what the mislabled daylily could be. I call it "UGLY and GONE". Better Than Ice Cream was garaged. Too special and too rare to leave it outdoors over winter........Sherry: One of the few good things about our high heat is that it can bleach out almost white to mostly white. What happens to Buzz Saw in 104 heat except for the gold/yellow edges and throat which remain to thrill me. Some of the new dayllilies I got will be posted later.....Kay: I wish I got rebloom here. It's not very common and Muy Caliente has bloomed out now and looks inclined to take a siesta for the rest of the season......Thanks Kate. We are both yellow lovers for sure............Maryl
