Instant Rebloomers

last modified: 2 years ago

I have four registered daylilies and many seedlings with instant rebloom right now. It's nice to see the reblooms brightening the land of brown scapes.

Bluegrass Shadows has two rebloom scapes.

The Color of Wonderful has four rebloom scapes.

Tart With a Heart has one rebloom scape going.

Dearest Valentine has two reblooms scapes so far. This photo was taken last week during our stretch of high 90s.

White Tooth X Skater #4 was my first daylily to bloom this Spring, and it was the first with instant rebloom scapes. It now has rebloom on eight of its 10 fans

Single bloom of WT #4 in the shade taken with my "blue" Nikon

Dearest Valentine X Princess Diary has one rebloom scape.

Judy's Jewel X Bubblegum Queen #1 has a rebloom scape this season. The first rebloom flower today was 8 inches. Previous flowers both this year and last were in the 7-7.5-inch range

Judy's Jewel X Bubblegum Queen #2 also started reblooming today. Its flower was just over 7 inches

Pink Extraordinaire X $exy Samantha has two rebloom scapes.

More rebloomers in the comments!

Stenciled Infusion X Royal Cypher's eye was looking more purple than blue today. It's the one I posted for blue in the Independence Day thread.

Jurassic Park X Bubblegum Queen #2 has a rebloom scape going.

Grandma's Smile X Dearest Valentine has three rebloom scapes.

Gypsy Cats kid X Rip Saw #1 has two rebloom scapes.

Gypsy Cats Kid X Rip Saw #3 has one rebloom scape.

Cowgirl Spurs X Skater has a rebloom scape.

White Tooth X Skater @2 has two rebloom scapes.

Dearest Valentine X Unknown has two rebloom scapes.

One of the Leonard seedlings is also reblooming, but I didn't get a good photo of it.

Yay for rebloom! And so many.

I only have 1 reg and 3 sdlgs, one of which has only 2 buds, with IR scapes, usually it's more.

Bluegrass Shadows is SO pretty, it and Tart with a Heart are my favorite among registered. Your pink seedlings are ALL beautiful, but the last in the main post, PExSS, especially. I just love that look.

You have a lot of rebloom going on. I do not. With only one rain the last 6-7 weeks I think my rebloom stalled. I usually have lots of instant rebloom occur. For example, last year August Wedding had 9 instant rebloom scapes-this year, none. Dearest Valentine is currently reblooming along with a couple more, way below normal rebloom.

I think the Judy’s Jewel seedlings are my favorites but the White Tooth x Skater #2 is really pretty.

Our rain chances from Beryl continue to drop so I suppose watering is in my forecast this week.

Nat and Kate - I've actually had more rain here in the past six weeks than I usually ever get. I've only been watering daylilies in pots. Rain seems to be the key to rebloom - especially when temps have been in the 90s for long stretches.

Kate - I'm very pleased with the Judy's Jewel seedlings and happy they are rebloomers.

Nat - The Pink Ex seedling is a looker, but it's never had more than 13 buds. It does always rebloom though. Bluegrass Shadows can throw some drop-dead gorgeous flowers. They're not all as pretty as the one in my photo.

    Thanks for your comments!

Beautiful! You gotta love that rebloom! Judy's Jewel X Bubblegum Queen #2, Gypsy Cats Kid X Rip Saw #3, and Dearest Valentine X Princess Diary are my favorites today.

Dearest Valentine has been blooming here, but I haven't gotten a photo yet.

Your Pink Extraordinaire seedling is one of my favorites of this group. Great face and I'm an easy prey for pinkish shades with a yellow edge. And what an edge yours has. I assume it is going with you........You know I liked the shade of pink on The Color Of Wonderful. So much so I had to have it back after it died over this past winter. That didn't work out when they sent me a NOID. It is note worthy to self if no one else, that of the hand full of Douglas hybrids I've had over the years, none have survived even their first winter outside. However it has been unusually cold here these last few years with single digit temps (and below) and they are in pots...........Maryl

I love rebloom and they are blooming away here too. They cheer up the landscape after most blooming is done.By the way, Dearest Valentine has two rebloom scapes here too. Dearest Valentine X Princess Diary is my favorite of the pinks. I like Gypsy Cats kid X Rip Saw #1 and #2, and have never seen one of your Skater seedlings that I didn't like.

Wow, you have a lot of very pretty reblooms! I was hoping since my season started a couple of weeks early I'd get some, but none so far.

I do like the Dearest Valentine one and the color appears rich and very pleasing and I like the edge it has. And computer problems are for the birds. I had major ones a couple weeks ago but it turned out to be the keyboard (I use a PC, not a laptop)

The White Tooth/Skater crosses seem to have produced not only attractive, but floriferous plants.

So great to see all of this rebloom on your seedlings! The White Tooth seedling has wonderful habits, what a great cross.

I hope the great performances continue when you relocate.

Mantis and Sherry - Nearly all the White Tooth kids are rebloomers. It will be hard to leave some of them behind. So far, none of them has attained more than 14 buds. But they live in the grub zone, so they may have more buds and branching elsewhere.
