you already have a backsplash. If you planned on a tile backsplash, why did you install the 4" backsplash with the countertop?

@LynNielsen the builder required it and it will pop off. That’s 4”. I’ve already got oil marks on the contractor grade paint.

You have abacksplash with that small 3-4 " piece no need for tile in fact IMO if you want tile you need to remove that piece , Choose a wall color paint above that and be done.

Once you remove the 4" backsplash that's there, a glass backsplash in a soft color would look lovely and introduce some much-needed color -- right now everything is so....blah, it's all varying shades of white or off-white, even your furniture. I see you have blue in your pillows. What about a soft blue to pull that into the kitchen? Fireclay has some lovely options: Glass Colors | Fireclay Tile
