Survived the nasty storms!

Heard the tornado sirens last night for the first time in quite awhile. Small tornado activity a mile from here. The Chicago area got pummeled with the nasty weather. Just tree branches down in the near area. Took a few photos today.

The first lovely photo of Smurfette this season, it‘s being strangled by a zealous clematis. This bed is being redone before fall shows up.

This is the first photo I got of Cheese And Wine this season. The blooms are smaller this year and it is difficult for me to get close enough to deadhead.

Jury’s Out was added a year ago in an effort to add late bloomers…..first bloom today.

First blooms ever on Cletus Clatterback. Added last fall and looks great this season.

I can’t believe Final Touch started today……a month early.

Megatron had a few blooms this season, slow to establish. Hope it does better soon.

Green Eyed Envy put up a couple blooms today, they are a big 7”.

I'm glad the tornados didn't hit your part of Illinois! Smurfette and Cheese and Wine are so pretty! How strange that Final Touch is a full month early. My lates were a week to 10 days earlier this time.

So glad the tornado missed you. I really like Smurfette, Jury's Out is a nice bright yellow and Final Touch looks good. It has been a strange season.

A mile is way too close for comfort where tornadoes are concerned. Smurfette and Cheese and Wine are pretty Green Eyed Envy is an interesting bloom and who could not like a 7 inch bloom?

I never get used to the tornado sirens going off here. I hope you have a "fraidy hole" you can seek shelter in. I'm glad it didn't touch down close to you. Did you at least get rain?.........Boy, nice pictures. The colors are so vivid on my monitor. Smurfette is my favorite (what a cute name) and the last one, Green Eyed Envy, I hope to see more of. Does the bloom ever get totally round?..............Maryl

Saw the storm aftermath on the news. Glad things are okay for you.

Lovely photos and your blooms look good even with the hot temps.

Maryl, no basement here…..the two of us spent time in an interior bathroom with a 5 mo puppy during the tornado time. Oh yes, did we get rain! Here is another photo of Green Eyed Envy, the shape and color are more evident.

I am glad you didn't get much damage. Our Final Touch bloomed early too. Many of our lates bloomed early as well. Green Eyed Envy has a very interesing halo or watermark, whatever you call it. I also like Megatron.

That green throat is something on Green Eyed. I see it is a Harry, not a hybridizer whose plants usually flourish in the north.

Mantis, It has done well here so far. it actually inproved significantly this season and last. I like it alot, the photos don‘t do it justice. I was impressed with the bloom size this season.
