HELP!!! Kitchen flooring dilemma

We are renovating our kitchen (off white cabinets, white quartz counters with some grey/light brown veining) we are trying to stay in budget, plus kids, and thought about doing LVP/LVT for the time being. Issue is the two adjoining rooms have original hardwood that I can't for the life of me decide what will work well next to it.
Eventually we will either refinish the hardwood in the dining/living room or replace all the hardwood on the whole first floor (dining/family room/kitchen) but that's
5-10 years down the line. I know replacing everything is our best option for a cohesive look but I want to see what options we have now for budget purposes. We are spending more now on better quality cabinets and appliances. Below you can see the existing hardwood in the dining room, the grey tile in the kitchen is what we are ripping up. Also have a few sample LVP just for colors and the large white square is our countertop choice.

Help!! What's the best option in our kitchen to go with this existing hardwood in adjoining rooms : (

That is an unusual looking hardwood. Do you know what it is and how old? Site finished or engineered? It looks to have wide gaps between the boards, what are they? A bevel? The gaps look darker. Is that due to them being stained darker or just dirt over the years?

Just trying to understand what you have to decide what would be the best way to deal with the whole flooring change/update.

It’s definitely different. It’s beveled. And it looks as though it’s mostly stain that causing the darkness between rather than just dirt as I’ve taken the painful liberty to clean it well. From my understanding it’s original to the house (Mid- 60’s)

I would go with a stone/linoleum not "wood look" anything. Getting close but not identical never really works. Let the difference be known it was intentional.

Since it isn’t open concept i think it’s ok if it doesn’t match exactly, but lvp just never looks great next to real wood. i actually like the tile - do you hate it or is it too worn? i would want to do wood to match the other wood - in color/type presumably not the exact style as that might be challenging. wood floors hold up well with use/kids - the painted cabs with rambunctious kids are another story…

The tile is pretty worn. And since we are moving things around in the kitchen we don’t have extra replace some areas. So we kind of have no choice but to put in something else.
