I don’t know how to edit this post—so are those values too strong for a dining area? Will there be enough light at night with other lights on in the kitchen/living area—I hate not to see when at table. We have fan over table now w/bright light but won’t be taking it. And don’t want fan over table in new house. (And I still can’t figure out how to add photo I had in original post and deleted.)

Set the 'Lighting type' to "Dining", enter the dimensions of the room, and set the 'Light bulb type' to "1000". I'd make sure that the light you choose is dimmable and to control it with a dimmer (Lutron LED+ dimmers are the best, IMO).

For a dining room, would it be better to enter the area of only the dining table, or perhaps split the difference between the table size and the room size? I have a friend who is a lighting designer, and she says this is one of the biggest mistakes: that people try to light the whole room, instead the countertop/island/path/area/table, etc. I am still learning and am not sure myself.

I like 4000K and in a DR just put them on a dimmer so make sure what you buy is dimmible
