It’s hard to find a good looking rug for a space that isn’t rectangular. In those cases cowhide rug help since they have the flowing structure and can be positioned in different ways. You can even double them up to cover larger areas. You might consider this for your space if you like that look. It would certainly be appropriate style with the organic look you already have.

The funny patterned Matt is a foldable playmat for my baby. Only is out when she needs to roll around on it. The TV unfortunately has to stay above the fireplace. This unit lacks storage, hence, the reason for all the cabinets.

I might have carpet custom cut to fit the fireplace angle, to unify the two halves of the room and provide a soft surface for the baby's play. Would love to add more living area seating, but it's hard to see where without blocking the cabinets or the slider. Dining chairs can be pulled over if there's a crowd, I guess, and attractive play pieces can make use of the central floor space. Driftwood (securely anchored) makes great sculpture for a bit of drama.

Can you say more about why it has to be there? Meant with no harm, just pure observation and desire to help your room, it looks terrible where it is and is also not good for your body to have to craine your neck to see it. Your entire room will feel more welcoming and visually balanced without it up there. Is it a matter of seeing the cord if you move it above the cabinet and have to plug it in to an outlet lower on the wall?

The TV needs to be there on that wall and honestly I cannot think of one reason why not so explain. That seems to have lots of storage in it so not sure wjat thta issue is IMO put that on the wall where the soafea is anf have the sofa on thta wall that way it visually shares a wall with the DR TV on the LR end and a nice vase of flowers on the DR end soafe facing the TV and as I often do ignore that corner FP

Agree to mount TV on large wall, you can put it on a mounting system so you can swivel is so it can be seen from the tv and kitchen (if that’s a reason for its current location)

Looks so much better with the TV over the consul and art above the fireplace as in Simply's rendition. This look would be really worth moving the TV, I too am wondering why it can't be moved.

I would ground that wall (as well as above couch) with art. Wait to accessorize the cabinet until after art is up. It could become a nice feature wall and taking the attention somewhat away from the tv.

There is no reason the TV cant be moved to the large wall, which is the best and logical place for it. yes, it will have to be remounted in the right place. yes, the old location will have to be patched and repaired. it‘s no big deal. we all make mistakes and change things to fix them later. part of being human :)

If you keep the tv above fireplace, I’d suggest adding a molding design or painting an accent wall on the diagonal wall behind the tv. It would help anchor the tv.

Would you be open to placing the TV over and console and placing art over the fireplace?
