Can you post a pic from farther back that shows more of the house?

Have your roofer pick up a bundle of each and spread a few on the actual roof. Never pick only from this samples boards.

The website has a 'visualizer' that will allow you to place a photo of your home and apply different shingle colors to your roof.

have the roofer lay some tiles so you can see.

The hard part is that I see many colors light orange red brick, blue or dark gray shutters a brighter orange door and a creamy white trim and all this is confusing you.

What does your house look like? Can you post photos? Picking a shingle based on the shingles alone is a recipe for disaster.

Thanks for the advice! I'll ask if they can bring some shingles to lay down to get an idea. Here are some pictures of the house from further away.

Both those colors look very similar to each other, they are brownish gray. After seeing your home in the photo above, the color most prominent is the blue of the siding. The entry way is recessed so far that you really won't see its colors and the roof at the same time.

Are you planning on painting the siding? If not, I'd go with a grayer roof. The brown tones don't relate to anything.

I agree with Diana B go for a color with a bit more gray.

this blue below is a bit loud not nearly as soothing as your blue but notice the pretty gray
