I have Eveline Wild aka Flavorette Honey Apricot. The plant grows fine and withstands the heat well. The flower and stem is able to form well enough under hot weather, but the flower is quite fleeting and crisps easily. In US this is marketed as ’the edible rose’ and part of it being platable is that the petal is soft, and therefore prone to dessication, even in mild weather this is not a long lasting bloom. I am in hot summer mediterranean climate, last 30 days have been above 37C, with hottest days at 44C (in other words, I live in an inferno). My plants stay well hydrated due to good sprinkler system and healthy water budget.

Thanks Ben, oh but what a shame Eveline Wilde is a crisper, it was top of my list. It can get pretty inferno-like here too! Interesting and very helpful observation you make about the edible range, that simply never occured to me - it does take a robust petal to withstand the heat. Perhaps I should try Jelena Frayla instead, an HT of theirs in a similar colour. Is the Frayla range available in the US?

I don’t think Jelena made it to our shores. Two orange apricots that do very well in heat here are Lady Emma Hamilton and Double Easy Orange

I second Double Easy Orange. It's a continuous bloomer right through the heat. Another continuous blooming, heat resistant rose is Meilland's Romantica, Abbaye de Cluny, which I've grown for years. Diane

A few days ago after 100F+ for weeks. The color of Double Easy Orange is darker. This is a small rose I've had for one year--but it's growing quite a bit.

Thanks Ben and Diane, DEO isn’t available here yet, but hopefully may be in future. I have Lady Emma, whose foliage is a fried mess at present like many of my roses (due to lack of water during an unexpected absence) but she is still trying to bloom.

I don’t need any more roses of course, of any colour, but was curious about the Pheno Genos as I haven’t tried any yet. I feel I should, purely for research purposes of course!
