Hi Sherry, they are all lovely, butI love Ruffled Masterwork and Little Strawberry Shortcake. As I mentioned before I am partial to pink/coral colors.
I see your ballon flowers there, do you do deadheading by cutting or not?

Great duos, Sherry! I really like all the pictures. And all the daylilies. What a pretty shade of pink on Ruffled Masterwork.

Will check if I have something to contribute.

    PS Houzz looks different somehow

Sherry: Good gracious. That Tall Dark Stranger looks so good every time you post it. Of all the dayllilies I see each year on Houzz that one always is in the top 10.......Kay: Picking one from each post, I have to go with your Thomas Tew. I'm not a white with eye fan, but your picture of him is always wonderful and edges out Stenciled Infusion by a hair.....Here's a couple of mine:

Mary's Baby before the triple digits set in:

Maryl, my favorite is Kiss You in the Morning, love it, wish I had it.

Kay, your Stenciled Infusion won for me, love it!

Debra, I got lazy this season and haven’t dead headed the balloon flowers. Right now I wish I had…….they would be reblooming.

Fay's Lovely Mistake--who is the hybridizer? Can't find it.

Mantis four years ago, . Fay at Shooter's me this plant. She then sent me a second plant with the information that she had made a mistake and sent the wrong plant, but to plant it because it was a beauty. She had lost all information on thus did not know the name or hybridizer.

When it bloomed, I posted it on the forum and told the story and gave it the garden name Fay's Lovely Mistake". I have posted it as such every year and I am sorry you were not aware and tried to find it. Fay assured me that they had tried everything to identify it and could not.

Here are some of my duos:

    'Jo Janet'

    'Pink Pajamas'

I don't think these have names ... they came from TomCat Farm Daylilies (along with 'Pink Pajamas' above), but I don't recall Cathy giving a name for these two when I got them. I usually just refer to them by color - i.e. butter and peach.

Brad, Egyptian Ibis and Chance Encounter x Full Grown light one are my favorites. The seedling I posted above is also Chance Encounter :)

    Blueberry, I like "Butter".

Kate, they are all beautiful (and such nice pictures), but especially like Golden Delicious and Green Icon.

Speaking of pictures.. Sherry, apparently some screens enhance photos, I had a chance to look at the post on a phone, and indeed S.Double Classic in my post looked.. too bright. No, it's the usual light pink / peach like everybody else's. I had no idea pictures look different, I use my laptop to sort / resize / look at my pics and they look just like in real life to me. Sorry about that.

Me too, here's a close up of it (sorry it's not a double.)

Oh, and I did find one more picture that is technically a double ... it followed me home a week or so ago. I was supposed to be buying milk and green beans in the farm store, and I did, but wellllll, this was between my car and the door ... I didn't make it back to the car without it.

    'Jolyene Nichole'

(Mind-not the slightly scraggly chives and woody rosemary.)

Blueberry, there are a few of us that grow Jolyene, its a great smaller daylily.

    Sherry

It's now in the ground a bit in front of Pink Pajamas. The area is fenced and the Jo Janets around the corner are left alone, so hopefully the deer won't be a problem.

(The long-legged vermin ate most of the flowers off Don Stevens and the majority of the yellows in the main garden this year.)

Lovely photos, Kate. I am always drawn to Hakuna Matata when you post it, but, of course, Garden butterfly is a beauty, as is Empire of Desire.

Blueberry, those darn deer visit some of the posters here…….so disappointing when they show up

    Sherry

    last modified: 2 years ago

Yup, they show up just as the buds get plump and ready to bloom, and chomp off every bud on the plant. We got two blooms on Don Stevens, and the next day, the rest of its copious buds were all eaten. Don Stevens is tall, so it's hard to cage well.

Here it is from last year ... it was also munched last year, but not as completely:

(You can see how it's getting up over its caging and how deer can still get to its buds due to this height.)

Me too. It was a bit pricy when she was initially pricing out for me, but fortunately there was a slightly smaller clump that she was willing to sell me for a bit less, so I was able to get all three (the peach one, the butter one, and Pink Pajamas)
