I closed on my new custom build a couple of weeks ago. One of my bigger upgrades was my stair tread which I paid $2800 for and that included installation stain, etc. it was one of the very last things they did on the house and I wanted to go black on just the treads but was nervous that it’d be too much black considering I have a lot of black in my house already. I decided to clear coat it to play it safe but the second I saw it with the black rail with clear treads I immediately regretted it.. is this something I could sand off and paint / re-stain myself? Any advice is greatly appreciate
