'Glamour Girl' has been a reliable performer for me (and mostly mildew free) for many years. It's not really "red", but definitely more on the reddish side of "coral" than pink to my eye.

I was going to name her too. however the color is really hard for me to integrate into my garden so i cant be wholly enthusiastic

Hate to be a downer about David, but...I don't really care for the blooms. After the initial bloom (which is beautiful and pure white), individual florets start to brown out. At the same time, there are still more buds behind those florets that are starting to bloom, so deadheading is kind of a waste.

And you're not (or at least I'm not, haha) going to clean off each one of those tiny brown spent flowers, which are extra noticeable because of how purely white the remaining florets are.

This is the only tall phlox I've grown, but I've seen others where the flowers just fall when their time is through, they don't stay on the plant and brown out.

Too new to say all that much about, 'Olympus' is very colorful in foliage and bloom, new growth lingers flushed in red and pink tones.

I complained about my tall phlox in a different post, but I must say, Opalescence is finally looking good. I think it's spectacular this year!

You weren't 'fibbing' @mazerolm_3a, that is a crazy gorgeous stand of phlox. Can you post a bit of a closeup? What made you "complain" about it earlier?

Thank you Rouge! In the previous years, all my phlox have had sparse blooms, not full-looking like I’ve seen online and in other gardens. Maybe it’s because they were not mature enough or we’ve had a hotter summer than usual, but this year they are everything I had hoped for.

It has seeded itself, and all the babies seem to have the same bloom as their parent.

@FrozeBudd_z3/4: I started out with 5, and gradually moved seedlings to make one big patch.

I hope next year my 'Opalescence' will kick into gear. I don't get many self sown phlox seedling, but the few I do I keep to observe of their worthiness.

'Younique Old Blue' is a beauty and so is' Olympus' and 'Flame Pink' ...

'lw', for sure something to consider....a "problem" with many white flowered perennials.

Once again 'Younique Old Blue', other nice ones are 'Larissa' and 'Cool Water', just new to my garden and yet are small things.
