6x9 seems small for the size of the sectional which BTW seems large for the space , Tell It seems that the sectional should be centered on the window so maybe a pic of the side of the space we do not see would be helpful. us the size of the sectional pleasse in a comment here . I rarely like print drapes but those seem to fresshen up the room You do need the lamp to be taller and I would suggest solar shades for the window so you can control the heat and UV but keep the view . Is there a reason Is there a reason the sectional is not centered on the window? I need to see the wall you do not show and IMO a recliner placed totally outside the conversation space is not a good idea.As for the rug maybe a nice blue in a more textured than pattern. BTW window covering seen together should be IMO the fabric , I can't tell if the valance in the DR is the same but it should be

Thank you @patricia colwell but I was looking for advice in a rug only. Keep in mind, not everyone has the funds to change everything in a room - I just purchased the sectional and like it.
