Just a little FYI. Top down pics are difficult to id, especially if there's no indication of scale.

Actually this is Cistanthe grandiflora and not a Calandrinia.

I stand corrected. I only know this plant from reading, not in person. Calandrinia spectabilis and Cistanthe grandiflora appear to be synonyms. I did not know which was current. Both appear in sources.

Yes, here it was first misidentified as the Calandrinia, but at the Botanical Congress here in 2000 some Chilean botanists corrected us, and it has been more than 23 years of trying to get nurseries on board. The two are not synonyms; the C. spectabilis is valid, just not grown much outside of Chile.

But, now molecular genetics may want to have a word…
