In the solid, it gives more of a textural vibe than a pattern.
But, check the color intensity of the chair for that rug. It’s hard to tell on monitors & from small closeup. The rug appears to have some bits of the deeper cobalt in it, but overall the colors are more muted. So you’d want to be able to try them out together . It’s one of those things that could be brilliant together, or the chair could be too strong . I’m being picky though. It also depends on other elements in the room.

Thank you, marmiegard_z7b. The colors in the rug are actually more intense and vibrant than they look here, it’s not a muted rug at all, I don’t know what I am doing wrong that it photographs that way.

Thank you so much, Beverly. Those are some beautiful options. My area rug is more vivid in color than it looks on a screen, and the chair is less vivid. I just brought the chair home and it’s a perfect match for some of the blue in the area rug. I was never concerned about the color, just about the pattern in the chair next to the pattern of the rug. They actually look great together, the pattern in the chair really just is just a textural look. Thank you to all who responded.
