It would be nice to see what will be going into the room to give valuable suggestions. Please post either a picture of the furnished room or pictures of the items going into the room.

It’s the top floor of a red brick row house. It’s our last area to paint, all colors turn muddy with the light up here.

Ive been thinking something similar and for similar reasons - something reminiscent of a soft blue sky ie a definite color but nothing that looks top-heavy or oppressive. Google images for "haint blue", these are blues that are traditionally used for porch ceilings. Some are lighter/softer than others. Theres various theories why blue became traditional for porch ceilings, one which has to do with the color of the sky supposedly keeping wasps away (or so says my Mom LOL).

Can you post a floor plan of the room with dimensions showing all windows and doors? Perhaps a better layout can be suggested. Do you need all that furniture in the room - such as the 2 dressers? Also indicate the size of the large armoire.

The 2 east facing windows are 38 & 40”w x 66”h. The closet doors are both 45 x 85. The bedroom and bathroom doors are 39 x 85. We use the 2 dressers which are 36 x 18. The armoire is 17 x 36, it hold different bags & misc. I’ve thought about selling the armoire or the whole set, they’re a matched set from the UK. Very out of date but for now I own them. The table with the Japanese make-up box on top I have no problem parting with either. But I’m absolutely open to suggestions.

PS I hate the yellow - the whole house was painted yellow w/ olive dab. Our bedroom is the last to get repainted.

Thank you for the info on dimensions of doors, windows and furniture but what is the length, width or the room so that I can figure out if another furniture layout is possible or not.

The bedroom is 12’ x 12.6’. There are 2 windows on the east side. The south and west walls have 2 doors each, so there is only 1 full wall. My husband doesn’t like beds in front of windows so I feel we have the only possible placement of the bed. But I’m open to suggestions!

The bed wouldn't be in front of the windows but between the 2 windows like this which would make the bedroom feel so much more balanced. I show is a double size bed but a queen bed is only 6 inches wider which would still work. You'd be able to keep the armoire and one of the dressers, and place night tables and even a bench at the end of the bed. An area rug would complete the look. Like this:

There’s nothing not 36” between windows.

Since you didn't give a complete list of dimensions showing placement of the windows I went approximately by the pictures which were at angles.

For a more balanced look to the room, I think it could still work with the windows closer together, something like this:
