While opening the kitchen up to the dining room is a common move, opening it up to the living room isn't as popular. But you'll have to show a floorplan and pictures in order to get good advice on your situation.

You may want to keep some separation between the kitchen and living room especially if the 3/4" is near the entry of your home.

..you have the wall depth then 18 in or so over to window [or patio door] and no hindrance with the conversation area of room.....so I would go for the removal and a bar /seating of some sort ........cant see the kitchen / room dimensions ....is Island with L the alternative??? ...do you have inspiration pics??
