Pick an off white that goes with the driveway after the driveway has been pressure washed. The driveway will be lighter and brighter. The painters can spray paint over the concrete blocks. If you prefer to have the house stucco'ed to cover up the concrete blocks shapes, it will be expensive.

Once the house is painted with your chosen off white, you can choose a new color for the trim and front door. Popular trim colors vary a lot geographically: what is popular in Florida is different from Arizona. What geographic area are you in, roughly, or nearest big city?

After sprucing up the exterior you need to work on the landscaping which is also location-specific. The grass looks like it needs some help.

When in doubt go white. This photo may be the perfect inspiration for you. Start small...windows and paint. Notice the little gable on the roof? New walkway, a wall, plantings up close to the house. Down the road, a new driveway.

How about a dark color on the trim and a light cream? New garage door, either modern or one with windows.

It sounds like you're on a limited budget so I took that into consideration in the following suggestions. I left the brick as is but enlarged all the window frames. Replaced the awning with a pergola (they can be bought in kits). I show all the trim painted in a warm white and the garage door and front door (we can't see your front door) in black. I show cylinder type of sconces (not much space for sconces) and a globe post light for a more contemporary look. Then you can look into low maintenance landscaping at your local garden centre for advice.

Difficult to see the exact colour of your bricks, perhaps the colour is similar to the colour on this house:

The house looks like blonde brick to me. If you're on a budget, I'd leave it. I'd emphasize the long, straight very modern roofline by painting it a strong color and I'd paint the window frames the same color, so the windows stand out more.

An awning can be a nice protection from sun, rain and snow. Not with a scalloped edge if you are doing a modern look. By modern do you mean MCM or updated? What is the wood in front of the window? Can you remove the window mullions, or do you need new windows anyway? Can you stand to the side of the house and take a picture that shows along the front of the house, showing the porch area under the awning?

Your long, lean roof line is a good looking modern style, and doesn't need anything like a gable etc.

The roof line is fine, it’s the other things that need addressing. It depends upon your budget. i agree with the suggestion for a soft, creamy ( not bright ) white & darker trim such as SW Urbane Bronze. Everything else depends upon how much you can ( or want ) spend, for light fixtures landscaping, etc etc.
