Do your other gables have b and b?

There are no other gables. The only other gable is the north end and no one sees it.

I’d add some visual interest to peak. Either b and b or shakes.

I think board and batten would look good.

Wow this is going to be beautiful. Good for you updating this sweet house. Sometimes simple is the way to go. If you had more gables then you could repeat the pattern but since you have just one. I would keep it simple and with that lovely brick its all going to come together nicely.

It is really a bit too small of a gable to introduce vertical siding, it will look a bit out of place, and you do have enough going on already. Keep it the same siding. Just my .02.

Thanks so much everyone for your input. I think we will stick with the horizontal siding. I was concerned about the peaks not being very high as well.

I agree with keeping it simple.
