Very few seeds need to actually freeze to stratify. Putting moistened seeds (must be moist, dry is only storage) from room temp directly into a freezer can sometimes damage, shatter, the embryo. Your refrigerator not freezer temps are cold enough. In my 8b zone, I leave them outdoors often and let our coastal weather take care of them. Do be careful to protect from birds and rodents though that will not be shy about foraging in your pots.
