My chairs are on the outs and when they fail, I want to be ready with either a specific table, or a few style ideas with what to look for.

Our family is 3 people, but my parents/ grandparents parents live 10 houses away. Grandpa is in a wheelchair, and my daughter (5) has a “grow with me chair for now).

I’d like to be able to sit 6 comfortably. Anything more and it’s a party so we can pull out the folding tables.

Currently I like the pedestal option because we can fit a lot of people around the table (it extends to sit 10) without having to straddle a leg.

I like the leafs store in the table, but would like a butterfly leaf if possible.

I love rolling chairs, but the office style wheels have really been an issue on the tile floor. The chairs are wide and comfortable (we play card games and visit often at the table). I’m fat so I’d prefer no arms. And I would like a slightly more substantial look than French bistro chairs. I’m not a huge fan of bench seating, which is what other homes (from listing photos) seem to use.

I have no style. Nothing else in the house is what I want it to be.

I’ll come back and post a few things I love design wise to maybe help with what I’m looking for.

What I think I like is transitional/comfy/minimal.

Blinds will eventually be swapped out for some kind of automatic roller shades- not sure if I should add casings to the windows.

Tract home, not forever home but have been here 7 years and plan to stay at least 3 more OR 12 depending on school situation with my daughter.

Budget:

I’d like to be at about $2000 for table and 4 chairs and know I may need to spend $400-500 for 2 extra chairs (or find alternatives for when we have more people).

Our home is about 350k (pre Covid), I’m looking for decent quality that if I care for will last as long as we are in the house.

I love to thrift and garage sale, so if my budget is way to low, at least having some ideas on what to look for would be great.

Chandelier has got to go too.
