I’d either do a single window on the first floor to match the second or I‘d leave it empty and fill the space with landscaping designed to match the window. Not worth the cost of reconfiguring both floors for the double windows. (We have those original to our house and they’re also a pain to arrange furniture around and do window treatments for.)

In any case forced perfect symmetry isn't necessary.

Symmetry is not needed. You can always add more landscaping to minimize the empty space.

I have no idea what you are asking from that useless drawing. Waht are the rooms behind the windows and IMO dummy windows are actully dumb

Hence the name. Saving $15-20k to reconfigure the first floor bath might offset the faux pas.

We do have an architect but most her design added significantly to our budget (+200k). We have been going back to her when we are sure of what we want but we have already spent thousands having to redo it. So we wait to we are sure prior to going back to her.

Don't spend the extra. Get some great landscaping and be done with it
