Are the cabinets in good condition? No help here, but I really like the neutral wood.

Is there a reason why you want to paint the cabinets? They look to be in good condition. To me, the floor is the problem in the room. I would be changing that before I painted those cabinets.

nice with the floor. I like the existing countertop, but not the 4" backsplash curb. a gray subway tile for a backsplash above the sink.

Another voice saying please don't paint! and please no gray! Natural wood is in again and your cabinets look lovely.

It looks like the tile runs under the cabinets so can't be changed. But I think a new counter, tile backsplash, and new wall paint would revitalize it. A better paint color (more neutal less yellow) could help make the floor and cabinets more harmonious.

Your cabinet style is great. Don’t be afraid to paint, but if DIY, do it right. Search advice and stories for info on DIY cabinet painting. We used BM Advance with good results. You need to sand, prime, sand again, first coat, sand again, final coat. My one tip is to use a wet sanding sponge for the sanding - SO much easier than dry sanding. It’s a long process, but worth doing right.

Keep the cabs as is. They’re natural, and neutral. The Craftsman style is simple, and fits right in with Shaker cabs that are so prevalent nowadays.

Agree with the others…the floor is the biggest issue. That, and the lighting…the kitchen is screaming for more, updated lighting. The wall paint, too, could use a change to something with some color…which would make the cabinets pop.

I too, say keep the cabinets. They are very nice. I would not paint them. I dont mind the floor, but, I dislike the wall color a lot. I would be changing that.

You could create a nice focus w new counters and then tile the backsplash . Try to get the floor and cabs to harmonize / take a look at a stone yard for a granite. if you have some decent budget yet a big remodel isnt going to happen thats what id consider. Yes to a new wall color but know what tones youre emphasizing.

Have you ever painted cabinets DIY ??? I have never seen them thta look good after a year and I do not love wood cabinets but I agree they are not the issue if they are in good shape and the floor stays for now IMO do nothing until you can do it right with new floors , all dreawers for base cabinets in a color you like . do not waste money on a new couter sort of lipstick on a pig still a pig. It is apoorly layed out space so until you fix the function leave it be.
