IMO no rug in the walkway so keep it inside the actual space and depending on the rug sometimes I do not even have any furniture feet sitting on a rug. I use some very awesome persian rugs where I want to see the whole rug and not do damage with furniture feet .

This is a very “cheap” rug so I’m not worried about damage from furniture feet. I’d love to find a better quality rug but colors I’m looking good for are very hard to find.

The walkway was my concern too only because I thought it would make the already narrow (3ft) feel more narrow.

Bear with me it’s our first house… we got rid of one sofa. The leather chair was a freebie. This is an 8x10 rug (free).

The new rug definitely has a “center” on it but I’m not sure if we can center things on the windows and fire place with path of travel
