We are lost (carpet/ curtains)

Hi, we are now through with our apartment renovation and we are running out of ideas. We have bought a new couch, which is now lighter than we thought. It is light gray. We are having trouble finding a carpet to go with it, as well as curtains and pictures. What color would you recommend for the carpet and curtains? We had the boho style in mind. But a white rug doesn't go with the couch at all.

It looks like you need an accent color to go with the grey sectional. Blue, lavender, yellow/gold, silver, etc. can work with grey. Please see some of our living room and family room designs. You might get ideas for rugs and curtains, along with fluffy pillows, from looking through the designs.

It's a pretty neutral blank sleight. I think of Boho as having more color...

What are you thinking for these curtains? The cornice hiding the curtain track seems waaaay too much. I might look into shades that just cover the window if you need anything at all. That room will close in fast if you have curtains lining the walls.

We had curtains hanging in front of it and it fit well. The room is very bright because we have sun all day. In total it is almost 40m2. We can't decide what color we should use to get a comfortable but modern look because of the color of the couch.

You have a room loaded with neutrals, especially the couch. Pick a rug with bright boho colors - if boho is really the style you're going for - and use that as inspiration for curtains and throw pillows on the couch. You might have to repaint the walls, though.

Plenty of lush plants,large colorful rug,and hanging tapestries will get you some boho vibe. Avoid small hard framed pictures that you have to be nose up to view.

Soft textures will promote calm and absorb sharp noises.

A rug with reddish oriental type pattern will give a cosmopolitan/ exotic feel,and is very good at disguising spills.

Do avoid the fakey "worn" faded rug fad.

Smaller rugs and runners can also be wall hung.

Think bamboo,wicker ,woven basketry ,and some brass containers(bowls,vases,urns,samovars)as accents.

I would not go as far as strewing bearskin rugs as was popular among the Austrian / Russian/ Hungarian upper classes during the mid 1800s,but a sheepskin on the sofa may be ok,as would a balalaika or two.
