Deck paint colors

We just painted our red brick house gray (SW Cityscape). The front door is red, white trim, and when we get shutters back up, they will be black. The 1st picture isn't my house, but a house painted in the same colors. We will also be painting the dormer gray too. I need help with back deck paint colors. My deck gets lots of HOT sun. It has so many components (lattice, rails, spindles, etc
). I was going to paint the floor one shade darker gray than the house but worry about how hot it will get. Was going to paint rails and spindles white, but they get so dirty and I have a lot of plants. HELP!

What if you paint just the handrails and posts-- black to match the shutters. The rest--spindles etc., would stay the same gray.

The floor of the deck could remain wood tone. Stain it a nice wood shade.

My husband is absolutely against staining the deck floor because it doesn't last as long, etc. Since the deck is on the back of the house, there won't be any shutters in view. Do you think that will matter?

Don't put the shutters back on the front. It looks fine without them and actual shutters would not be used on the wide windows you have.

Just do all the railings the same color as the house. Make it easy on yourself.

I would use stain. Stain, does wear down, but, can be touched up easily. Paint usually ends up peeling and needs to be all sanded and repainted often, if the deck is used very much.

Seems to me your husband has it backwards - stain lasts longer than paint.

I second the comment about leaving the shutters off. The front of your house is handsome and pretty busy already. Less is more.
