pocketdoor dilemma

We are putting a pocket door into our new bedroom addition. The door will be facing you when you walk in from the front door. The trim in the bedroom will be white. The trim in the hall is stained dark. The door will be white on the bedroom side and stained dark on the hallway side. How do we handle the door frame? If we stain it, some will be seen from the bedroom. If we paint it white, some white will be revealed in the hallway.

Put stop moulding around all three sides of the opening and transition the paint there just like if it were a hinged door

You split the finish. The jamb on the bedroom side of the pocket and the track gets the white, and the jamb on the hall side of the pocket and the track gets stained.

PIcs are great bit I agree just split the finish IMO a pocket door into a bedroom not ideal have you checked out hiden doors .

The reason i want a pocketdoor was to maximize wall space for the nightstand. Door couldnt open into foyer
