hardie board paint problem

We have a new build house. The hardie board and batten were painted on site. This side of the house looks like this: does not look new but rather like it’s 50 yo. Is this a known issue with hardie board painted on site? How can this be fixed? The other side sod the house also look like there is a central strip down the boards. Shown in arrows but not as dramatic as this side. Thanks!!

Says it’s the lighting! Which baffles me how this can ever be acceptable

You should know the process and materials used. It would help us if you listed them. Once you get that info forward it to Tech Support at Hardie for their recommendations. It seems if the product came primed, washing, sanding and repriming with acrylic primer is an option to help produce a quality finish when you then apply a 100% acrylic topcoat.
