Exterior Paint Dilemma 2

We are building a modern farmhouse. We like the look of light and dark colors. We plan to use BM Iron Mountain and SW Gossamer Veil. Our thought is to paint the trim and soffits the same as the wall color they touch. Our shingles are Williamsburg gray and charcoal gray metal. We are trying to figure out the best locations for the light and dark paint colors. We are also working through how to handle the gutters color/placement. Our initial thoughts are attached, along with pictures of the house as it is now, and a couple exterior photos we like. Any thoughts/recommendations would be very helpful!

My image above is just turned 90 degrees -- no changes.

People here (including me) tend to not like random application of siding materials and random colors.

Usually when it's done, you apply siding with a plan to paint all that siding a color, then your different siding is all another color. For your house, all the lap siding would be one color, and all the b&b would be another color.

Is Brittany unable to provide you with more realistic renderings to help you make a decision?

That is a good point. Initially some of those areas were going to be stone and wood - bc of cost, we ended up changing them to lap and bb. Unfortunately it wasn’t thought out in conjunction with the paint colors. I will check with Brittany to see if she can do a more realistic rendering for us. Thank you for the feedback!

One color. You have several siding materials, unify it with color. In most cases color blocking looks forced.

Maybe find a patchwork quilt you like and use the colors from that. The massing of the design seems to have a random theme to it and the variety of color could reinforce that.

As a side note pay special attention where roof surfaces terminate at walls to avoid leaks.

Thank you! Yes, we definitely will have some water valleys given the steepness of the roof and where some of the walls culminate. I appreciate the feedback!

Love these! Great inspiration. From what I can tell, it looks like they kept the darker color on the soffits and gutters, and in two of them, even the trim. Very helpful! Thank you!

Instead of white and gray, a white trim with soft light, pale taupes are nice with a gray roof. One taupe for board and batten, another for clapboard. A nice luxe combo that would be great with your black windows as well (not shown in this inspo).
