What are you doing Tuesday 92424

A storm is coming. A cat 3 so far. The only thing that bothers me is that the wind is coming from the west. But maybe it will push the condemned greenhouse back the other way. There is always a bright side.

It is fall. And I am ready for it. I am loving the cooler evenings that I can get something done or more likely sit and watch the lake. The ducks are grown. The males are getting the green head feathers, and it will be soon time for them to go. I did some bird research and found that in the winter they go to Florida.

I am glad to see that some of you are getting rain. Even more excited to see that I was not. I needed to get dryer air. I have had a de-humidifier under the house running since Friday. The exhaust heats my bathroom floor, again the bright side.

Again, with the storm coming I will be able to wear my new pink rainboots that I am all excited about. I mail ordered these and someday I hope to get the rubber smell out of them. For now, they are out here. Have a great day!

Pink boots look like a nice decor. Our recent church service was about Autumn Equinox. Due to change in climate 🌎 is now wobbly while rotating so my anecdotal observation on water levels dropping and rising might be just explained. Fall is here full force. I am returning back to regenerative garden practicing, looking forward to next year, bringing horse manure everywhere and piling mulch where I can .

Payla - Hope you weather the storm OK. We are finally getting some much needed rain here. A little on Sunday but looks like a day long steady rain today. I'm always amazed how the hostas respond to the natural rain vs sprinkling with city water.

Divided and potted up a few more hostas that weren't doing very good due to root competition. I'm going to run out of room in my spot for over wintering in pots.

I've started to re-label some hostas with the new plastic sticks I picked up. Just using the lead pencil they came with. Will see how the fare by next spring.

A little excitement here, did a red-tailed hawk rescue late last week. Hawk was on the shoulder of the road right in front of my house, was able to capturte it and brought it to a wildlife rescue organization. They think it might be a head injury from a collision with a vehicle and just traumatized, hopefully will recover and be able to be released.

Paula, I’m glad you’re getting some cooler weather now and I hope the storm is not a big threat for you. I have a question about the ducks…… you said the males go to Florida? Aren’t you in Florida?? Love the pink boots! I have noticed sometimes things from China have smells to them that are difficult to get rid off. I had an expensive handbag I bought and when received it had a terrible smell, sorta moldy. I tried everything recommended online and nothing worked. I gave it away. Hopefully your boots will lose the smell and if not, you can use them to make a floral planting……one standing up and the other spilled over perhaps. Again, another bright side!

Lindalana, what is regenerative gardening? Is that not cutting things back before winter to provide food and shelter for birds, critters and bugs? I just read an article about that and was considering doing it too. Of course I don’t want to provide shelter for slugs or cutworms……😂😂😂

Old_dirt, so happy you saved the hawk! I can’t believe how big it is in your arms there. I hope it makes it!

I’m not doing much of anything….had to get my front tooth fixed today. I managed to get a small chip in it. I sure had a fat lip coming out of there! Lolololo Next garden activity is to do my fall slug drench, but now I need to wait for some clear days. It’s been raining all day here. That’s it for me.
