Here we go again!

last year

Another hurricane is on the way! I hope Sharon and anyone else in Florida are okay. Our little town of Live Oak had not been hit by a hurricane in 50 years until last summer, and now this is the third one. Idalia last year and Debby and Helene this year.

We’ll just hunker down at home and wait for it to pass.

Theresa, my shoulder is doing well! Today at PT we started stretches behind my back and next week I’ll get to start using more weight.

How is your hubby?

The surgery went well. Then began a course of daily dressing changes on both his forehead and his thigh where the graft material was taken. The nurses at the clinic say those two sites are looking good.

He has an appointment with the surgeon on Wednesday after an appointment at the Cancer Centre on Tuesday. Not sure what the result of that will be.

Our children are taking turns helping with driving to the clinic, doing yard cleanup, and any other jobs I can give them. One son just adjusted the fridge door which was just a smidge off level.

So we are doing pretty well but I haven’t been near the sewing machine. Poor Sterling’s quilt will not reach him in time for his birthday. Maybe for Christmas!!!

I was just thinking about how our Florida and Georgia friends were doing I’m so sorry you’re having to go through this again. Stay safe.

Theresa and Donna, I’m glad your medicsl issues seem to be resolving. i had my second cataract surgery yesterday. i hope this second surgery is as successful as the first. I’ve got a quilt all loaded on my longarm, and I’m anxious to get going on the quilting.

We are fine here. No damage to our house but the trees really took a beating. None fell, but hubby and I spent about 8 hours this weekend hauling broken limbs out to the street for pickup.

Thanks, Donna. I'm glad to hear that your house withstood the wind. You were really right in the worst of it.

I was able to quilt my plaid quilt yesterday. Now to bind it.

Theresa, I was very careful! I think the exercise helped. My lower back isn’t very happy, though!

No, this one is pretty far south of us. We’ve had light rain all day today and they say we’ll get some gusty wind.

We moved here from the Orlando area, so we have many friends and family in Milton’s path.
