Sorry I don't know how that happened

This is a small but highly usable space and it seems that you have done a lot to use the space well already. When you say redecorate, do you mean that you want it to look nice, function better, or both?

Your ideas sound unrealistic. Uppers with a counter for folding and a rack for drying cannot go above your washer/dryer. You could put them where you black shelves are, but how can you stand in front of them to fold clothes when your vacuums are there. And where would you put a tall cabinet for your vacuums? You are trying to put 15 lbs of dreams in a 5 lb bag.

Your wire shelf above your machines seems practical and hold a lot. I'd get some nice, deep, clear lazy Susan's to hold more of your cleaning items on your black shelves. Get a hook to hang the ironing board. Not sure where else you can have your vacuum cleaners live.

I was thought the folding table would look nice along the wall where my vacuums are. Cabinets above it with the clothes hanger under. It is such a small space for sure.

You have room for a folding table, the ironing board and the iron, but you don't have room for the vacuums, brooms and the stuff on the black shelf. What is most important to you for this room? Do you have a closet or pantry you could use for the stuff that won't fit?

I run an in-home bakery and my broom closet has been turned into a bakery pantry.

If you put the cabinet and folding counter where your vacuums are, where will you put your vacuums? What is the width of that space where the vacuums are when your door to the washing machine is open? Where do you fold your laundry now?

I still think you have utilized the space pretty well in here.

I’d be tempted to run another row of shelves above the washer dyer for bulky light items like paper towels (I’d want both shelves to be wood but that’s a me thing, also a sturdy foldable step ladder would be nice) - feel like the back of the door could be used for smaller hanging items and then perhaps the vacuums hung where the broom, duster are hung now? (that seems like a helpful wall that could be better utilized -

do you need/use every thing on the black shelf? seems like that could be better organized (smaller stacking shelves and drawers could help maximize the space)

I can relate to your challenge as my room is similar to your size. Have you considered removing the pedestals from the washer and dryer to have a countertop made above them? I have pedestals too and need a step stool to reach stuff in the cabinets we mounted above them, not convenient but I keep all regularly used stuff on the first shelf. It's a trade-off not having the pedestals but something to consider in a small laundry room. Are your pedestal drawers already being used for storage? Or would you consider a stackable washer/dryer unit to gain some space?

Is there enough wall space behind the door that could be used for that mop/broom wall holder? I have a wall mounted shark vacuum so maybe you can hang a couple of your vacuums where you have the brooms now. I would likely find another place to store the vacuums since you have 3.

The pics are helpful but we need a to scale floor plan every measuremnt claearly marked the window the doorway all those measurement s in a drawing to scale on graph paper posted here in jpeg format in a comment . There is IMO no way to make suggestions from only those pics . I would start by clearing out all things not needed one of those is to find a cleaning product that works for everything I use only 3 things for cleaning MRS MYERS concentrate for everything in different strengths for differnt jobs, ZEP floor cleaner for all my floors and vinegar. A big stack of microfiber cloths only used for cleaning washed together no fabric softener ever for those I now use thlaundry sheets instead of liguid take up 1/ 10 the space and I use Oxi clean no bleach for the last 23 yrs. I am a clean freak and this combo works well and takes up very little space nI hang nothing with the new W/D there really is a cycle for everything I do iron honestly most stuff like sheets , tea towels my hubby/s shirts so an ironing board and iron for sure. Once you only have what you NEED there it will be easier. Where you have the black shelving get a nice ikea oantry cabinet the brooms and mops hung inside 2 shelves to hold everything else . Hang the iorning board on the wall and a top on the W/D for folding and make that top removable for service Put some fun awllpaper on the wall behind the W/D that makes you smile. This is alundry room not a cathall and yours is probably 2x as big as mine

You could get a pastry cabinet or a Hut style one with glass doors and put pastries in there in your dining room

Do you iron every week in this room or do you take the ironing board and iron into (say) the living room or master bedroom?

It looks like you have two vacuums and one carpet cleaner. Can one vacuum go upstairs?

Do you have a garage shelf or cabinet that could hold some of the things on the black shelves?

@apple_pie_order I'm tall but would still have to do a huge yoga-like stretch to reach my body over those machines and high enough to take one of those hangers down. And a step stool would be a must to reach anything in that cabinet. Perhaps that is a fine accomodation, but for me, this space wouldn't feel easily usable.

@Kendrah , good catch on height. One of the other sample laundry room photos shows that their washer and dryer are not on pedestals, so maybe not a stretch for an average height user.

One of the key measurements in setting up a clothes rod in the laundry room (or anywhere else) is how far up the user can reach comfortably. One professional organizer puts blue painter tape at the highest shelf level and the lowest shelf level that are comfortable for the owner to use in the kitchens they organize. The same blue tape guidelines could be done in a laundry room or closet before finalizing a design.
