Extend the existing wood into the kitchen. It’s the best investment.

Can’t speak to having LVT, but I replaced the vinyl flooring in my kitchen with hardwood before we moved in over 35 years ago, and it’s been absolutely great, through kids and pets, etc. I’ve refinished it once. I would not consider anything else.

Without a doubt, for a unified, elevated look, bring the wood into the kitchen. Wood is easy on the legs and back, and cleaning is a snap. LVP always looks fake, whether it’s imitating wood, or tile.
