There are a lot of different manufacturers of engineered wood floors in addition to Mirage and Mohawk.

You need to look at the specifications for the engineered wood floors - what is overall thickness? How many layers? How thick is the wood veneer layer (some are only 2 mm - and cannot ever be refinished, while some are 5-7 mm which allows for 2-3 refinishes). Also, what type of finish is used on the engineered wood? While aluminum oxide is used a lot these days - it also makes refinishing almost impossible (my understanding is that a wood floor finished with AO can be refinished - but it is much more expensive due to the difficulty).

You should also look at European Oak engineered wood floors - that's the species I purchased for my engineered wood floors. There is less grain + I like the color better than white oak (just wanted to mention it because many people don't know about European Oak).

Between those two,Mirage would certainly be better.
